Personality
Azael.. hrm. He's a manipulative bastard, and damn good at his job. For several years he's worked for the technocracy, and has earned himself a place among the higher-ups of that non-centralized government.
On the side, he's a bit of a philosopher [though he'll tell you it's all bullshit, really]. He has a gift [or a problem] of being overly blunt -- he'll tell you exactly how it is from the moment you meet him. At least he's honest [as honest as a demon gets].
Distinguishing Characteristics
Azael stands about six foot five, with broad shoulders. He can be spotted from blocks away.
On a spirit-plane, his wings are reddish silk and always seem to be moving.
Author's mental notes
Azael is one of my very few blatant bad-guys. I usually make it incredibly hard to tell who's bad and who's good, because I believe that anyone is capable of a balance of both. That's why most of my villains are simply anti-heroes, and most of my heroes have the Shakespearean "tragic flaw" quality that makes them less than perfect.
But Azael, you just can't get around. He's a demon, and he's proud of it. What little redeeming quality he has is his honesty -- to himself and to others. He has no trouble flaunting his demonic nature. And oddly enough, he'll tell you the truth in everything. It will just happen to be what he believes, which is not necessarily a perfect truth.
