Personality
Linao's not exactly the popular girl at her school. She's somewhat of a bookworm, keeping to herself, with a few close friends that aren't exactly in her age-group. Still in high school at this point, Linao is also still trying to find herself. She has a few passions, including martial arts, which she's only studied for a few years, and baseball -- she likes playing shortstop.
Other than that, she considers her life pretty drab... her parents don't always get along, her older sister is painful to live with [especially since Linao has to share the car privileges with her], and she spends more time at Dominick's apartment than she does at her own.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Linao dyed her hair a light blond, but it's slowly growing back to its original color - something like red. She has since kept the awkward two-tone look -- yellowish on the bottom and dark cherry on top -- and intends to keep it until it grows itself out.
Lin has a fiery temper to match her hair, if someone happens to cross her the wrong way. She's compassionate, but most of the time she's a little selfish. Everything's taken with a grain of salt, and it's hard to convince her of anything, although she'd love to argue with you about it for argument's sake.
Author's mental notes
I didn't originally create Linao as a main character. She's a mixture of two large pieces -- in the first, she was a hunter I created for an RPG several years ago, and happened to be the only human in the game. In the second, she is a reminder of what I was like in high school... her qualms, her insecurities, her troubles and even her tragedies are parelleled in many parts by my own.
Maybe for that reason, I don't like her so much. >>
