General Comic Stuff
  • How long does it take you to finish a page?

From sketch to finish, it usually takes me about 6-8 consecutive hours each page. I do these pages while I'm at work, though, so on a busy day or two, it can take me as much as 16 overall hours (or 2 work days ;).

  • Do you have the whole script written down?

Eh, no. I have the main plot in my head, and my goal is to keep on that main plot, so certain things are inevitably going to happen. But character development [page-by-page script] is made up on the spur of the moment, by me, Roland, and sometimes Rik [whoever happens to be in a creative mood at the time].

  • Where did you come up with all the characters?

It's a long process involving many role-playing sessions and subsequent boredom. Some of them are other people's characters [Jack, Garrett, Nephene, Sebastian, Jade and Alexander are Roland's]; and some of them are real people [Jim is a friend of Roland's, and Tamur is my first role-playing buddy].

The rest have come about during various RP adventures of mine, and if I were to give you information about those adventures, it might give certain plot devices away for WA. ;)

  • Where can I read some of your other stories or comics?

I have a funny comic at onnachance.com. Feel free to poke around there for other funnies. Occasionally I'll have snippits of other things on the main site here, mutedfaith.com, but it's mostly going to be artwork.

Character Stuff
  • Was Linao's hair always red and blonde or just blonde?

Linao's original hair color is red. She dyed/bleached it blond once, and since then it has grown out to the red-blondness that it is now. And she likes it that way.

  • Are Trini's demonic qualities hereditary [i.e., are her brothers demons]?

Possibly. ;) If a demon / half-demon has children on earth, they're likely to take on the demonic traits of their demon-parent. That doesn't mean they don't have souls [in WA, the souls of demons are owned/held by the demon-king-guy]. They just might have demonic traits.

World Stuff
  • A downside to not being Marked, or having your Mark removed, is that you're completely out of the loop cash-wise... if that's the case, why are there loose credit notes, ala the one Enoch's left recently, and much earlier that Jack dropped for Dominick?

Most 'loose notes' aren't used by anyone but criminals. They can be added to your main account if you go to a collection agency, but you have to fill out a bunch of paperwork saying where you got it, who you got it from, what it was for, etc... so most people just keep it and spend it on other less-than-legitimate things.

Some people have their marks in weird places, so they would like to scan something like a card rather than their -insert embarrassing body part here-. There are cards for that purpose too -- they're not the same as loose notes, they're just like ID cards that require something like a thumbprint or key number activation (like the one Linao used for Trini's ice cream, way back when.)

  • Where do loose notes originate from?

They're mostly remnants of the past. At the collection agency the most likely 'claim' to money is that they 'found' it while sifting through ancestral boxes. The mark system as it is wasn't completely solidified until some fifty, sixty years ago.

  • How solidly is cash backtracked when handed in?

As thoroughly as they can with the records they had. Some cases are easy, since they can track exactly when the person in question received it from what business. Some businesses [very small] still use loose notes... like bars, things that are better served with loose-note tips, strip clubs, etc..

Loose money usually stays in the lower sections of life, so it's generally associated with people who either have low hobbies, or make their money from less-than-approved ways of life.

You can also -get- loose money from a collection agency for purposes like that, from your account, but then you'd have to submit in writing exactly what you were going to use it for, and it goes on some permanent tech file record somewhere.

  • Is it still being produced at all? (stated a bit differently: can Enoch "manufacture" it?)

Enoch hacked a random collection agency to produce the money. The card Garrett has is a small computer screen-and-chip, basically, so it receives a signal from Enoch and he can tell Garrett what he wants at the right times. When the 600 credits appeared on the card, it's because Enoch transmitted the money from a random account he hacked to the card -- he bypassed the entire process of submitting an application for loose money, and simply stuck the loose money in a note.
