Angelic Choirs

Seraphim.
+ image 1
- Corresponding to the seventh heaven, the Seraphim are the highest choir of angels. They are the most trusted, the most powerful, and the least understood.
- No Seraphim walk earth. This choir considers it painful to step into the third dimension because of the negative energy trapped there.
- Seraphim resonate Truth. As a race, they can tell when a being is lying, why they are lying, what they think the truth is, and what the truth really is.
- Racial aspects: little is known about the Seraphim, but they are considered calm and collected. Other celestials may also consider them haughty.
- Wings: Very much like silk, the seraphim wings usually flow in a cloak-like manner about their shoulders. Each seraph is different, but most can force their wings into sharp weapons if the occasion calls for it, or make them as flexible as thin cloth.
- Known Seraphim: Aitrus, Jehoel, Metatron, Seraphiel, Soriel
- The fallen Seraphim are the Balseraphim.
- Known Balseraphim: Lucifer, Beelzebub, Hadgen, Azael
- Cherubim
- Corresponding to the sixth heaven, the Cherubim are heaven's guardians. They guard items, creatures and events of great importance, wherever heaven may send them.
- Several Cherubim exist on earth, mainly as guardians to lost treasures or humans that heaven deemed important enough to send a Cherub to guard.
- Cherubim resonate devotion. Their racial gift is the ability to attune themselves to any object or person. After their attunement, they can automatically tell where that object/person is, what it's doing, if it is hurt in any way, or if it needs or desires anything.
- Racial aspects: Cherubim are considered incredibly compassionate and full of love. Many of them don't carry human weaponry. Many of them are also somewhat animalistic in features – some have a tail, some have talons or paws, some have cat-like eyes, etc.
- Wings: Cherubim wings are very typical – two large, powerful feathery wings. The colors vary greatly, and very few of them are known to have pure white wings.
- Known Cherubim: Gabriel, Ophaniel, Rahmiel, Raphael, Sablil
- The fallen Cherubim are the Djinn.
- Known Djinn: Theliel, Psyche, Onoel
- Ofanim
- Corresponding to the fifth heaven, Ofanim are heaven's wheels. They are the messengers for heaven, and also the motion for the third dimension. Everything initiated is accredited to them, as is everything ended.
- Ofanim rarely exist on earth because they're too busy elsewhere. One Ofanite who can be found on earth has gotten the name Death – he is responsible for bringing souls to the celestial plane for judgment.
- Ofanim resonate motion. Their racial gift is swiftness – nothing can outrun or outmaneuver an Ofanite. They are active, swift, and dexterous, and they never stop.
- Racial aspects: Very rarely will an Ofanite pause to converse. Words mean very little to them. There are more important things to do than sit around and talk.
- Wings: Most ofanim have steel or metallic wings with jagged edges. Some simply have wisps of wings that are barely visible. Still others have sets of wings on their feet to give them an extra "umph." Speed is what matters to them, so whatever won't hinder their motion is what works for them.
- Known Ofanim: Azriel
- The fallen Ofanim are the Calabim.
- Known Calabim: none
- Elohim
+ image 1
- Corresponding to the fourth heaven, the Elohim are heaven's judgment. They are responsible for judging the souls that find their way to the afterlife.
- Elohim rarely exist on earth, because they don't really care about visiting it. Their job comes after these souls have left, not while they still inhabit three-dimensional forms.
- Elohim resonate balance. They are the scales of justice, the emotionless creatures that objectively weigh each spirit according to its worth. Their racial gifts include objectivity and understanding – they can sense a person's emotional state, motives and motivations; they can also strip those emotions from that person, and allow that person to look at himself objectively. Elohim will also act for the greater good on any occasion, no matter what price must be paid.
- Racial aspects: Elohim are emotionless. They hold no interest in the souls they judge, or in anything else for that matter. Those Elohim that allow themselves to feel emotion are the ones who fall.
- Wings: Elohim have four feathery wings, though the colors and sizes vary. Most of the colors are pale or pastel, and some of them are even pure white or gray.
- Known Elohim: Zaccheus
- The fallen Elohim are the Habbim [Habbalim, Habbalah].
- Known Habbim: none
- Malakim
+ image 1
- Corresponding to the third heaven, Malakim were the only race created after The Fall. They are heaven's power, the sword of heaven, the warriors – front line soldiers against the fallen angels.
- Malakim exist on earth for one purpose only – to weed out and destroy a demon or demons.
- Malakim resonate honor. As a race, they can sense a being's most noble deed, and also their most repugnant deed. They also have a sort of built-in "sense evil" – if something harbors negative energy, they know it almost instantly.
- Racial aspects: these warriors are considered serious to a fault, deadly, and arrogant. The choir can boast, of course, because it is the only choir of angels without a single fallen member. There are no Malakim in hell's army.
- Wings: Most Malakim manifest pure fire for wings. The fire varies in color [and heat] from dull red to bright white and blue.
- Known Malakim: Michael, Uriel
- Kyrum
- Corresponding to the second heaven, Kyrum are the possessors. They inhabit human forms momentarily when certain actions need to be taken; they also influence other humans in the form of an angelic "conscience."
- Kyrum exist on earth more, perhaps, than any other choir, but they don't manifest themselves. In truth, they have no form of their own, and may only mimic the forms of other beings.
- Kyrum resonate fluidity. As a race, they are the most changing, the most flexible. They can heal whatever being they possess, and they can also control whatever being allows them to possess it. The fallen Kyrum are the ones that have grown too attached to one form, and no longer wish to remain formless.
- Racial aspects: too varied to list.
- Wings: The Kyrum possess no true form, and therefore have no wings.
- Known Kyrum: none
- The fallen Kyrum are the Shedim. They are generally in love with their fleshly form, and obsessed with physical and material things.
- Known Kyrum: none
- Mercurim
+ image 1
- Corresponding to the first heaven, Mercurim are the negotiators. They are the liaison between heaven and earth – the first to greet new souls when they arrive, the voice for all the other choirs when it needs to be heard on earth.
- Mercurim are earth-dwellers, for the most part. But unlike the Kyrum, they have their own forms.
- Mercurim resonate communication. They have a constant need to speak with beings, human or celestial, and are perfect social butterflies. As a race, the Mercurim gift is the ability to read a person they are speaking to – they know that person's name by the first word they speak, and the more that person speaks, the better the Mercurian knows the intricacies of that person's life.
- Racial aspects: Mercurim can be incredible manipulators if the occasion calls for it. They are sociable, cordial, usually confident, and very friendly.
- Wings: This is the race with the typical white, feathery wings. Because they are so open and communicative with the human race, these wings are the standard when anyone thinks of an angel.
- Known Mercurim: none
- The fallen Mercurim are the Impudim.
- Known Impudim: none
