Demonic Bands

- Balseraphim.
- In Hell: The Balseraphim are the rulers in hell, the leaders of hellion armies, the instigators of all that occurs within the rings of the inferno.
- On Earth: More Balseraphim are on earth than Seraphim simply because they have learned to twist the lies into truths of some sort.
- Resonance: They don't resonate on lies, per se, as most of them truly believe the lies they create. These false truths can also be spread to unsuspecting humans, who could actually start believing in an entirely different reality if the demon focuses long enough on that one objective.
- Racial aspects: Balseraphim are just as haughty as their counterparts, and they aren't afraid to flaunt it. You'll rarely find a Balseraph who isn't damn proud of what he is, and quite ready to admit it to the world.
- Wings: While the Seraphim seem to have wings made out of pure silk, a fallen's wings are usually drapes of shadows. The same properties apply, with darkness rather than light playing across their features.
- Known Balseraphim: Lucifer, Beelzebub, Hadgen, Azael, Leland
- Djinn
- In Hell: Most of the Djinn inhabit the lower levels of hell, where the torturous screams are louder and more pleasing to the demonic ear. The princes have large temples in which they torture their own victims and from which they draw their power.
- On Earth: If a djinn is on earth, it is for a very realized purpose. They rarely like traveling there, because when they do it requires they have a certain level of trust toward people -- a djinn's power comes from whomever he is attuned to, and without their "wish," the djinn cannot perform even a parlor trick.
- Resonance: Djinn resonate on wishes. Like their counterparts, they can easily attune themselves to any person or object; unlike their counterparts, this attunement becomes an obsession, something so sub-conscious that the djinn can't do anything against their master's wishes. On the bright side, if a human makes seven wishes from a djinn, that human's soul becomes the djinn's property. With every wish, the djinn owns a little more of that being.
- Racial aspects: The djinn have presented themselves as forces to be reckoned with -- something to quash the otherwise slave-like image they seem to uphold. They are ruthless, and most of them are able to pervert a wish into anything they want it to mean.
- Wings: Similar to the Cherubim, a Djinn's wings are simply darker in color and more leathery in texture. Most djinn gather colors of dark red or black in their previous feathers, though some manage to keep a graying appearance or darker blues.
- Known Djinn: Theliel, Psyche, Onoel
- Calabim
- In Hell: Nobody knows exactly where these creatures call home.. Few are seen in hell, and the ones that make their home there are avoided at all costs.
- On Earth: Likewise, few are ever seen on earth. These creatures seem to congregate on a different plane, and nobody else knows quite where... or cares to find out, for that matter.
- Resonance: Calabim are the epitome of chaos. They resonate entropy, the lack of action or meaning, a pointless clause whose reason for existing was lost somewhere in the logs of time. Objects around them seem to wither and decay; metal rusts and crumbles in their grasp, weaker humans lose all cohesion and fall into puddles of water and ash.
- Racial aspects: The Calabim are consumed by their own destruction -- once creatures of action and decisive measure, they easily fall to insanity by their lack of ability to create or decide anything. They have lost their purpose, and as long as they claw after it they can never find it.
- Wings: A Calabite's wings differ from being to being.. some carry the same, metallic sharpness of their counterpart's, while others seem to have a massive entanglement of black as their extra limbs.
- Known Calabim: none
- Habbim
- In Hell: Also called Habbalah and Habbalim, most Habbim remain in hell, around the mid-levels. They are content to wander or station themselves in the great hellion city Abbadon, or visit the lower levels where less human interaction is eminent.
- On Earth: The Habbim, much like their counterparts, rarely visit earth. Their place is to judge the souls, not take part in daily life and interaction with them.
- Resonance: As Elohim, these creatures were emotionless judges. Somewhere along the line, their emotions came to the surface -- whether it was pity, compassion, anger, disgust, or a variety of either side of the emotional spectrum, the very fact that these creatures succumbed to emotion became their downfall.
- Racial aspects: Most Habbim are embittered with the human race. They spent most of their existence judging these souls, seeing both the good and the bad within them all, and the balance was tipped somewhere until they became disgusted with the entire process. Habbim rarely socialize with other demons; they are more comfortable alone.
- Wings: The four wings of the elohite are usually drained to gray or black when they reach hell. Some Habbim have red or violet in their feathers, but most have no color at all.
- Known Habbim: none
- Lillum
- In Hell: Lillum are the only demons created as demons. They are mostly of the female persuasion [I've never seen a male Lillite], and mostly scattered about hell wherever other demons require them.
- On Earth: Very few Lillum visit earth; if they do, it's at the behest of their prince or master.
- Resonance: Lillum resonate freedom -- everything they don't have. They trade favors and barter until they manage to gain some position in the hellion community, but such status is incredibly hard for a Lillite to achieve. If a Lillite has fulfilled all its master's requirements, it becomes free. However, this rarely happens, and when it does the master usually continues the Lillite's slavery.
- Racial aspects: Lillum are very low in the eyes of other demons. They are a slave class, created mostly for the purpose of pleasure slaves, and as such have little or no say in hellion politics [or anything else, for that matter]. Most of them are subservient and willing slaves; a few of them are solemn, somber, even depressed.
- Wings: Lillum are wingless demons. Many of them have tails and claws, a few even have horns.
- Known Lillum: Diseis, Ilia't
- Shedim
- In Hell: Very rarely in hell. The Shedim prefer the physical plane.
- On Earth: Most Shedim are found on earth, in human form. They enjoy the flesh so much that they risked everything to become a part of it, and would rather cease to exist than give up their form.
- Resonance: Stasis. Shedim are perfectly content to live immortally within the form of a human. Since they can't create this form on their own, the Shedim are forced to steal their form from a human, virtually possessing them for all eternity. In this way, many humans have lived far beyond their mortal expectations; most humans are aware of what their body is doing, whether or not they can control it, but few humans remember what they did while they were possessed once the Shedite leaves.
- Racial aspects: These creatures love humanity, and everything about it. They love the perversions, lust, passion, pleasure, physical pain and ecstacy. They have become obsessed with the physical plane, and are therefore trapped by it. Most other demonic bands simply scoff at the Shedim's ridiculous waste of energy.
- Wings: Shedim are formless and wingless. They look completely human when they possess a human's body, save for subtle features such as reddened eyes.
- Known Shedim: none
- Impudim
- In Hell: The Impudim prefer earth, and are seen in hell only against their will.
- On Earth: Most Impudim wander earth like the Shedim; the two bands are perhaps the most friendly toward each other of any demonic or angelic sub-races.
- Resonance: Similar to the Mercurim, the Impudim resonate communication.
- Racial aspects: Although they're lower on the food chain, the Impudim are tolerated more than the Shedim by other demonic bands. The Impudim had the shortest distance to fall -- they were already walking among humanity, they simply became attracted to it and finally, completely obsessed by it. Unlike the Shedim, they are not obsessed with the physical side of it; they are adept manipulators, and enjoy stringing a good lie or practical joke. They also enjoy being the center of attention.
- Wings: Impudim have the two standard angelic wings, although they may be dark gray or black. They are colorless and feathered.
- Known Impudim: none
